Artist Statement


Ataru Kozuru was born in Japan and raised in the United States.   His creative output is inspired by geology, archeology, and astronomy. Kozuru received his BFA and diploma from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, in affiliation with Tufts University, and also studied abroad in Italy and the South of France.  He has had solo shows in Tokyo at Odakyu Art Salon gallery, Fukuoka Asian Art Museum 8F gallery, and group shows in the United States and Europe.



Kozuru’s work can be found in public and private collections both in Japan and the United States. He currently lives and works in Japan.
